It’s Pancake Day in London!

by Silver Hand

Posted on March 01, 2019 at 12:00 AM

Once again pancake day is here. Held every year 47 days before Easter Sunday, this year’s pancake day falls on Tuesday, March 5, 2019. Expect London’s best restaurants to go at it this year hosting pancake events like flipping competitions where pancakes and pans are provided. All you need to bring to the table is your flipping skills. Historically, it is known as the Shrove Tuesday and marks the last day before Lent begins. It is a day of abstinence that was traditionally marked by the clearing of cupboards of things like fat, eggs, and sugar. However, today it is known as Pancake Day because it presents a great opportunity for you to use such ingredients as well as have some fun at it. Look out for events like pancake races you can take part in, although, if it's too much, sit down at a restaurant and enjoy delicious pancakes.
